For those looking for assessment and/or treatment for themselves or for their child, I ask that you contact me first via the contact form below. This way, we can schedule a 15-30 minute conversation to insure that I’m able to offer you the right kind of help. There is no charge for this screening conversation.
This is also my policy for those seeking a consultation, mediation, or any other service that my practice offers. Those making referrals are also welcome to contact me via the form on this page.

If you’re seeking treatment for you or your child:
As I am licensed as a physician in the states of California and Tennessee, I am currently able to evaluate, treat, and prescribe for patients from either of these two states.
Out of state patients requesting consultations:
Due to my expertise in certain conditions I am able to do a direct evaluations and make treatment recommendations for out-of-state patients seeking my particular specialty skills (principally trauma work). However legal strictures dictate that these consultations must take place in my office in Tennessee.
If you’re seeking divorce or custody mediation:
There is no location restriction on any couple seeking mediation services. However, as is outlined in the Mediation section, any agreement reached by mediation can only be made legal by a filing with a court within your state of residence. This paperwork must be done by an attorney within that state. Part of my service includes referral to an attorney local to you who will be willing to confine his tasks to the paperwork and filing of an agreement already drawn up in mediation.
Consultations requested by treaters
Consultations requested by treaters are permitted regardless of location, so long as I am not required to see the patient myself. I am able to review records (with patient consent), discuss the case with other providers, and make recommendations based on text goes here

Sessions health is an electronic record keeping system which enables me to keep all of my patient’s records fully organized, private, and protected, insuring that all HIPAA compliance and encryption standards are strictly met.
But Sessions is also a system for patients. Each new patient is invited to open their own portal into my electronic “office” with their own unique password. There, new patients will find intake documents which, once completed, will be instantly added to your or your child’s chart. You may also make appointments, change appointments, send me messages, upload documents that you’d like me to see or download those that I think might be useful for you. You can even arrange for automatic payments utilizing the Stripe secure payment system. text goes here

I see patients and those seeking mediation either within my office in Nashville, Tennessee, or via telehealth virtual links. Patients and mediation clients are also welcome to vary their visits and do some in the office and others by telehealth.
For patients choosing to see me virtually by telehealth, I utilize my electronic record program, Sessions Health, to connect the sessions (please see below for additional information about Sessions Health)
All appointments scheduled via telehealth will be sent connection links directly to their email. by sessions health.
Those choosing telehealth must sign a consent form agreeing to this type of visit. That form will be available to you with other intake forms when you first sign on to Sessions Health.
Please note that I do not conduct regular appointments by telephone
For those seeking mediation services, the option of office or virtual visit are also available. However, Sessions Health is not used for these visits, but rather the Teams or Zoom programs.

At this time, I require self-pay for all of my patients and do not take insurance. Payment options include Zelle or Venmo. STRIPE payments by credit card are available through the Sessions website and may be set up for automatic payment at the conclusion of each session.
Certain types of insurance will offer at least partial reimbursement of payment if it is submitted by the patient/parent. This request for reimbursement requires that a “superbill” be submitted to insurance with the patients’ demographic information as well as diagnosis and the proper codes for the services provided. Should you wish, I will provide you with a completed superbill form that you may submit to your health insurer. Please check with your own insurance to learn whether this is an option for you.
As child psychiatry services are often exceedingly difficult to obtain in many areas, patients and their primary care physicians may also appeal to their insurers for reimbursement of these payments, even if their particular plan does not generally include it.
OF NOTE: full payment of the bill is required before a superbill can be generated and insurance reimbursement made.
